More than 30 students and alumni from Bethany Lutheran College’s BLC Studios traveled to Las Vegas to attend the NAB Show (National Association of Broadcasters), one of the largest gatherings of media, broadcast, and digital entertainment professionals in the world.
During the trip, students learned about the latest innovations in broadcast technology and connected with industry professionals. They experienced firsthand how professional workflows are shaping the future of media production in the age of AI innovation.
A highlight of the trip included a visit to the Avid booth, where students met with editor Joel Harlow and sound designer Erik Aadahl, known for their work on Amazon MGM studio’s Project Hail Mary. The two shared insights into how they used Avid’s production tools to create the film and how Avid’s latest innovations are shaping the future of film production.

Students also had the opportunity to meet with well-known digital creators, including Roger Deakins, Markiplier, and the Corridor Crew. The Cooridor Crew hosted a live reaction video on the show floor and hosted a meet and greet after, where students were able to ask questions about the latest trends in visual effects and trends in the ever-changing landscape of digital media.
