The Speechless Film Festival is fast approaching and with it is Media Week 2015. This year’s Media Week runs Monday, March 16 through Saturday, March 21. We’ve assembled a wonderful group of professionals and educators from all over the country to visit campus and present about various aspects of media—including valuable industry insight.

The week begins with a documentary screening on Monday. Called According to His Purpose was created by BLC alumnus, David Blumer. The screening is sponsored by Christ In Media.

Tuesday afternoon, MSU Professor John Paul will give a talk about art direction. The evening talk is by Joe Spear of the Mankato Free Press. He will discuss the integration of video content with a local newspaper.

Wednesday we are pleased to welcome back actor and BLC alumnus Steve Corona to discuss his work as an actor and dialect coach in the entertainment industry. Wednesday evening Pat Muldowney from Fox Sports 1 will speak about marketing in social media.

On Thursday, Scott Winters from Ion Concert Media will demonstrate his innovative software for syncing visuals with live music performance. Ion Concert Media sponsored the visual music category of the Speechless Film Festival, which kicks off Thursday night with a VIP launch party at Studio Six.

Friday morning, Michael Betancourt from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Georgia will present on the topic of experimental media. We are also hosting a filmmaker panel on Friday afternoon with several filmmakers whose films were accepted into the festival this year. Speechless Film Festival showcases begin screening at 7:00 p.m. at three downtown locations.

On Saturday, the Speechless Film Festival continues, starting at 1:30 p.m. The award ceremony is at 8:30 p.m. at Pub500, downtown Mankato.
