We are incredibly proud to announce that Bethany students have received a total of SEVEN awards from the Broadcast Education Association in the annual BEA Festival of Media Arts! BEA is the premier international academic media organization for educators, students, and professionals. Hundreds of schools participate in its contests; this year the BEA Festival of Media Arts received over 1,650 entries from students and faculty in a wide range of categories. While Bethany has won awards from this event in the past, we have never won this many in a single festival year.
Bethany received four awards of excellence and three 1st place awards in five categories (while the 1st place award is highly impressive, it does rank behind the Best of Fest award). We are very honored to be recognized among renowned institutions such as Syracuse University, Michigan State University, and the University of Arizona. Bethany’s winning entries include class and capstone projects as well as media created for Esports and MSU Maverick Hockey. The full list of contest winners is available on BEA’s website. A huge congratulations to the 13 students credited above as well as multiple students, faculty, and staff helping in uncredited roles! We also want to point out that many of these students are credited more than once, and give a special congratulations to senior Alec Mueller and recent graduate Franklin Selvey who are both credited four times.
All student festival winners will be celebrated in-person this April in Las Vegas at BEA2023, which is co-located with the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show. Greg, Alex, Ben, and Amanda will be attending…and we hope to take a group of students along! Stay tuned for more info.
