Trampled by Turtles teamed up with the Media Arts department to create the official music video for “Midnight on the Interstate.” The world premiere of the music video occurred on Friday, May 3, 2013, at the Speechless Film Festival presented by Bethany Lutheran College. Lead singer and guitarist Dave Simonett attended the festival for the premier. The video premiered online on Team Coco, the official site of Conan O’Brien, and is now also featured on VEVO’s youtube channel where the video has over 90,000 views and over 900 likes. Additionally, the video was also mentioned in City Pages as one of the top 10 best Minnesota music videos of 2013.
This success can be attributed to the hard work and dedication of the students and staff members who worked tirelessly through spring semester to complete the video, which was part of the coursework assigned to students completing media arts independent study credits in animation.
